We will be celebrating the School of Engineering undergraduate Class of 2021 with an in-person Commencement ceremony. It will be held at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field on Tuesday, May 11th from 10am to noon. It will also be livestreamed. Admission to the ceremony is by ticket only. Students and guests will be required to register to receive a ticket. Members of the Class of 2021 will receive messages from the Commencement Office including details on how to RSVP and receive tickets. Please keep a close eye on your inbox. In addition to the in-person event, a virtual Commencement ceremony for all Class of 2021 graduates will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1 p.m. EDT, streamed via YouTube.

Tuesday, May 11th 10AM-12PM

Commencement regalia may be ordered at uconn.shopoakhalli.com.

Please order before April 23 to ensure timely delivery; the online ordering portal will close after that date. If you would rather purchase it in-person, the Hartford and Storrs UConn Bookstore locations will offer regalia for purchase starting on April 12.

 

1. Add the appropriate regalia package to your cart based on the degree you earned (Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral).
2. Select "Complete Packages".
3. Answer the questions on the "Products" page and click "Next".
4. Select the desired tassel under the "Extra Tassel Year Date" and add it to your cart.
5. Click "Next" to go to your "Cart" page.
6. On that page, delete the "___ Degree Purchase" item from your cart by hitting the red X on the right-hand side of the price. This will leave only the extra tassel remaining in your cart.
7. If you would like a "2019" or "2020" tassel charm, please leave this note in the "Regalia Special Notes" section on the "Cart" page.
8. Click "Proceed to Checkout" to complete your order.

UConn diploma covers will NOT be distributed at the 2021 in-person Commencement ceremonies; they will be mailed. Once The Registrar's Degree Audit staff determines that all degree requirements have been met, your degree status on StudentAdmin will be changed from “Active” to “Completed.” At that time, you will receive an email informing you that you have successfully completed your degree requirements. Once your degree has been granted, it will take 4-6 weeks for the Office of the Registrar to mail your diploma and diploma cover to the permanent home address you have listed on StudentAdmin.

Graduating fee-paying Storrs seniors receive a free copy of the yearbook automatically, and do not need to order a yearbook. Yearbooks are on track to be shipped in the fall. For more information, see commencement.uconn.edu.

December graduates are only eligible to participate in the next calendar year’s ceremony. For example: a student finishing their degree requirements in December 2021, is only eligible to “walk” in the May 2022 commencement ceremony. This long-standing University rule applies to all schools and colleges and is firm. No exceptions will be made.

IT IS NOT AUTOMATIC. By the fourth week of their final semester at UConn, all students must apply to graduate via Student Admin. This is the trigger that informs the Office of the Registrar to conduct a “degree audit” of a student’s transcript. Once a student completes their final semester, if Degree Audit determines all requirements have been met, a diploma is granted. Applying by the fourth week also ensures you will be included in Commencement communications. If a student fails to apply for graduation, a degree audit will not be conducted, their name will not appear in the commencement book, they will not be listed as eligible to purchase a cap/gown/tassel, and they will not be granted in-person ceremony tickets for their guests.

We have School of Engineering “Class of 2021” themed items for purchase: a white long sleeved T-shirt ($12-$16 plus tax and shipping) and hats in UConn blue/charcoal or light grey ($10 plus tax and shipping).
These items are exclusively for purchase by engineering seniors graduating in 2021. There is no limit on the number of items you can purchase. Family members can purchase this apparel as well.
